What stays true
- Local only Reads the open page when you click. Chats are not sent to us.
- No backend No account with us. No telemetry. This site does not see your threads.
- Never auto-Send A hop may paste. It does not click Send on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok.
- This thread, not the account Not a full-history or memory migration. Hop ≠ syncing two accounts.
What it does
Four actions, on purpose
Copy and export stay the full unwrapped transcript — useful in a notes app. Hop is a different path: a short handoff wrapper, then the destination composer.
Copy
Write Markdown or plain text to the clipboard. Copy last response takes only the last assistant turn. Neither path wraps a handoff instruction.
Export
Download a .md file named from the chat title when we can read one. Large hops can also download the full Markdown so a short paste is not a silent cut.
Overflow-safe paste
If a hop paste is over about 12k characters, the composer gets a short Last N (or compact) payload and the full unwrapped file is downloaded.
How a hop works
You ask. Then you send.
Open a supported chat
Use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok in Chrome. The extension looks at the current tab — not your whole history sitting on a server.
Copy, export, or hop
From the popup: Export, Copy, Copy last response, or Open target. Optional shortcuts: Copy Markdown and Hop to last-used target (Chrome may leave them unbound).
Paste is not Send
On hop, a continue/don’t-recap line is prepended. If the composer is empty after open, paste the hop backup yourself. Send stays a click you make.
What this is not
Not account migration
Chat Transfer does not copy an entire ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini / Grok account, memories, custom GPTs, or Projects. It does not keep two sites “in sync.” Attachments and images are noted as [attachment not exported: …] when we can see they were there — file bytes are not invented.
It also does not scrape in the background. Extract runs when you click, or when you use the Copy Markdown / Hop commands.

Settings stay on your computer
Optional popup settings (Demo mode, Keep system prompt, hop payload, last-used target) are stored in chrome.storage on this device. Clipboard writes happen when you copy, as a hop backup, or via the Copy Markdown command. Host access is limited to those four chat sites.
