What this extension does

Chat Transfer helps you export chat text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok and copy or hop it to another of those sites. It runs locally in your browser.

Data we collect

We do not collect, sell, or transmit your chat content to our servers. This extension has no backend and does not phone home.

What stays on your device

• Chat text is read from the open page only when you click Copy, Export, Copy last response, or Open target, or when you use the Copy Markdown / Hop keyboard shortcuts.
• Clipboard writes happen when you click Copy / Copy last response, as a backup when you click Open target (or Hop), and when the Copy Markdown command runs. Hop paste may also write into the destination composer after you open a target.
• Optional settings (for example Demo mode, Keep system prompt, hop payload, last-used target) are stored in chrome.storage on your device.
• Exported Markdown files are saved to your browser download folder when you choose Export. Large hops may also download a full Markdown file for overflow.

Permissions (why)

• activeTab / scripting / tabs: read the current chat page and inject hop paste when you ask.
• Host access to Claude / ChatGPT / Gemini / Grok domains: only those sites.
• clipboardWrite: copy the transcript when you click Copy / Copy last response, as a hop backup, or via the Copy Markdown / Hop shortcuts.
• storage: remember your popup options.

This website

This static site (aichattransfer.com) only hosts product and privacy information. It does not receive chat content from the extension. There is no analytics on these pages.

Children

This extension and website are not directed at children under 13.
